Cooper Francis

Senior, Oakwood Baseball

Oakwood senior Cooper Francis earned Southwestern Buckeye League Athlete of the Week honors after helping lead the Lumberjacks to the SWBL Buckeye Division championship. Oakwood improved to 17-7 overall and finished 11-3 in league play. Francis combined to go 4-for-6 with five runs scored, three RBIs and a home run in wins over Bethel and Dixie. He went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and a homer in Tuesday’s 15-4 win over Dixie after adding two hits and an RBI in Monday’s 12-6 victory over Bethel. The senior first baseman and pitcher has been one of Oakwood’s top offensive leaders this season, batting .339 with four home runs, 24 RBIs and a .512 on-base percentage.


Sci-Yesha Anderson

Senior, Waynesville Track & Field

Waynesville senior Sci-Yesha Anderson earned SWBL Athlete of the Week honors after another impressive stretch on the track this spring. Anderson captured first place in both the 100-meter dash (12.62) and 200-meter dash (25.89) at the league meet, continuing a standout senior season for the Spartans. Earlier this spring, Anderson tied Lora Whitestine’s 1985 school record in the 200-meter dash with a 26.30 at the Fenwick Invitational.
