Ross junior Paige Baker has been named SWBL Athlete of the Week after leading the Rams to a three-game winning streak. Baker helped Ross improve to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the SWBL Southwestern Division with standout performances both in the circle and at the plate. She went 3 for 3 with an RBI in a 4-2 win over East Central, struck out seven while allowing one run in a 13-1 victory over Edgewood, and tossed a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 10-0 win while adding two hits and three runs. A consistent two-way force, Baker owns a 27-9 career record with a 2.462 ERA and 321 strikeouts, while hitting .436 with 92 hits and 39 RBIs.

Nabors has been a steady force at first singles, compiling a 10-1 record this season as the Spartans have surged to an 8-3 overall mark. His performance marks a significant step forward from his sophomore campaign, when he finished 20-12. Valley View enters the week with momentum, having won four of its last five matches, with Nabors playing a key role in that stretch. His consistency at the No. 1 spot has helped set the tone for the Spartans.
